Start working with BillPro
Steps to get started
After you have worked through the basic tutorials, you can start working to add your products and your customers and create orders.
Configure BillPro
The first step in using BillPro is to Activate email notifications, Configure currency conversions, and Manage users as required.
1. Create your products
The next step when working with BillPro is to create your products using the BillPro UI.
To help you work more quickly and accurately when creating products and orders, you can create groups and pricing elements, including discounts, fees, and taxes for pricing and groups to categorise your products. See Create product groups and pricing elements.
Then, you can create your products using the purchase types that are configured for your merchant. See Purchase types.
When you are creating products, you need to choose your pricing and payment configuration. These can be locked in the product, or you can let the user set them in the order. Or you can use a combination of those two options. See Create your product catalogue.
2. Add your customers
Next, you need to add your customers. You can do this using the UI, CSV file import, or API. For details, see About customers, Create a customer, and Import customers from a CSV file.
You can also add a customer directly in the UI when creating an order. This is the same process as shown in the tutorial on Create an order.
3. Create orders
The third step is creating orders, which you can do with the UI or the API.
The order type should be compatible with your product's purchase type configuration. This means there is some flexibility to pay for single-payment products in instalments and for instalment products in a single-payment order.
You can only use subscription products with subscription orders and metered products with metered orders.
See Create orders for the UI instructions.
Using the API
You can use the API to create customers and orders.
See Customers API and Orders API.
Then, you will be able to accept payments and manage your orders.
