Start working with BillPro
Steps to get started after configuration
After you have configured your merchant in BillPro, and worked through the basic tutorials, you can start working to create your products, add your customers, and create orders.
1. Create your products
The first step when working with BillPro is to create your products using the BillPro UI.
To help you work more quickly and accurately when creating products and orders, you can create group and pricing elements, including discounts, fees, and taxes for pricing, and groups to categorise your products. See Create product groups and pricing elements.
Then you can create your products with the purchase types that are configured for your merchant. See Purchase types.
When you are creating products, you need to choose your pricing and payment configuration. These can be locked in the product, or you can let the user set them in the order. Or you can use a combination of those two options. See Create your product catalogue.
2. Add your customers
The second step is to add your customers. You can add customers using the UI, with CSV file import, and with the API. For details, see About customers, Create a customer and Import customers from a CSV file.
In the UI, you can also add a customer directly when you are creating an order, which is the same process, as shown in the tutorial to Create an order.
3. Create orders
The third step is to create orders, and you can do this with the UI or the API.
The order type should be compatible with your product's purchase type configuration. This means that there is some flexibility to pay for single-payment products in instalments and for instalment products in a single-payment order.
You can only use subscription products with subscription orders and metered products with metered orders.
See Create orders for the UI instructions.
Using the API
You can use the API to create customers and orders.
See Customers API and Orders API.
Then, you will be able to accept payments and manage your orders.
